Why Help?

In our increasingly information centric age, the tech and design community carries a tremendous amount of influence over the success of an organization.  Unfortunately it's often the case that very simple and easy to implement tools and communication methods which could dramatically improve a nonprofit's ability to fulfill its mission are out of reach.

That's why we need your help.  As a member of the development and design community, you have the skills to improve a local nonprofit quickly and dramatically.  We also know that you have very busy schedules and many other obligations so we've created a structure in the Code-a-thon event that will be both fun and prevent over burdening your time.

We hope you'll join us in creating a better community.

Team Lead Registration Open!  

Team Leads will have the following responsibilities:

1. Build a team of designers and developers that can implement a quality web based solution for a local nonprofit.
2. Work with a local nonprofit to develop a project solution that can be implemented in the event time frame (project should be presentable in 8-10 hours on Saturday with time the following week to clean up and prepare for launch).
3. Be the team representative for press releases and PR during the development of the solution and the Extreme Web Makeover event.  This will include video, press releases, and interviews.
4. Act as the liaison to a local nonprofit before the event, during the event and then during the launch of the project.  Unless otherwise directed by the team lead, after the project launches all requests from the nonprofit for further development will be handled through the Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits, Code4aCause and local community volunteers.
